Thanksgiving Carpet Stain Removal

How to Treat Common Thanksgiving Stains

Supplies You’ll Need

  • White cleaning cloths or paper towels
  • Cornstarch
  • Dish soap
  • White vinegar
  • White wine
  • Baking soda

Cranberry Sauce

Treat a cranberry sauce stain as soon as possible. Simply use a mixture of dish soap and cool water to clean up this stain. Dip your towel or paper towel in the solution and blot the stain until the entire stain has been removed.

If your carpet is now sporting a gravy spill, first scoop up as much as possible. Sprinkle cornstarch over the rest of the stain, and let it sit for approximately 10 minutes. Once the grease is soaked up into the cornstarch, vacuum the area. If there is still a stain after using cornstarch, make a 1:1 mixture of vinegar and water, then blot at the area until the stain is gone.
